Haruka Miyamoto (BA 2011)

Becky Earley interviews final year BA textile design student Haruka Miyamoto on her project that explores using waste materials to craft with traditional techniques.

Haruka was chosen to be a Mentored Student in the TFRC/VF Future Fashion Textiles Competition 2011, in which she proposed an installation in a Vans retail space, using the plastic waste from two employees over a month.

Haruka has also been chosen to be included in the British-ish show, the best of the UAL design graduates at the V & A for London Design Festival, 2011, curated by Prof. Kay Politowicz.
